A normal week, told (mostly) through pictures

Monday:

Watched the sunrise from the bus on my way to school.

Enjoyed a home-cooked Greek meal in return for a violin lesson

(this week: pastitsio...and honey-glazed roasted quince for dessert)

Tuesday:

Watched the sunrise from the bus on my way to school.

Boosted my self-confidence

Left school, admiring the beautiful grounds

Wednesday:

Watched the sunrise from the bus on the way to school.

Discovered that the "on-campus chapel" is a gorgeous Byzantine church that is hundreds of years old.

Beautifully tucked away a mere three-minute walk from my house.

Thursday:

Had a surprise visitor.

and noticed this wonderful parking spot at the grocery store...

Friday:

Got home from a tiring week and was looking forward to sinking into the couch...only to find, when I tried to open my front door, that the lock had broken. On a Friday afternoon when maintenance was leaving for the weekend. Only option: the window (who would have thought having no screens on the windows would turn out to be a good thing!)

Saturday:

Baked.

(apple pie)

or
(sweet potato bundt cake with boiled brown sugar icing)

or
(brownsugar icing-filled pumpkin cupcakes with caramel-cream cheese frosting)

Sunday:

Represented Fulbright Greece at a Career Day event at Technopolis--the first gas factory in Greece.

This seemed like a bit of a drag for a Sunday morning, but the day was saved when we found out that there was *free* catered lunch! Our shift was technically over at 1, but we all opted to stick around until it was served at 2.

Served here:

And then got a little sun in the not-so-atmospheric but less-mosquito-y option on campus, next to the academic building.
